We skipped the 101 because we spent too much time meandering through Newport Beach and Huntington Beach. Grapevine again, and 22R performed like a champion.

Gassing up in LA.

My wife had a great time and is already planning Sunchaser trips. Sacramento delta is tempting...

It has been running hot and I have gotten the following advice:

1. New radiator (I hate to get rid of anything factory)

2. Pull the radiator and have it flushed and cleaned. This seems sensible, no?

3. Remove the fan and replace with an electric fan. Will this help all that much?

4. New hoses. This seems like a lot of effort.

Oppo ideas?

factory stuff is okay. but this is a 30 year old car. radiators have come a LONG freaking way in 30 years. Time for an upgrade.

New radiator. You might not be a fan of the idea (forgive the pun) but it’s better than a new engine that isn’t factory.

I would suggest the flush if you really want to keep it factory and I believe they can pressure test it. I would also suggest the electric fan. It’ll run when stopped at idle and relive some power back into the engine.
